Alfitrah Academy is a values-driven educational initiative dedicated to raising a generation grounded in the Quran and Sunnah, equipped with the character and competence to navigate contemporary life.
Established in 2012 by Anjuman Ta’aleemul Quran (ATQ), the Academy today anchors a range of innovative Quranic learning programs for children and youth — both offline and online — with presence across South India and the Middle East.

Our Journey
Alfitrah Academy began as a visionary initiative of ATQ in 2012, inspired by a mission to restore the natural purity (fitrah) of children through value-based education rooted in the Quran and Sunnah.
Drawing from ATQ’s five-decade-long legacy in Quranic education, the Academy was conceptualized as a holistic learning space for the foundational years of a child’s life — ages 3 to 6 — when values, habits, and intellect are most impressionable.
• 2012 – Alfitrah Islamic Preschool inaugurated in Kozhikode, based on the globally acclaimed Noorul Bayan-wel Fathurabbani methodology.
• 2013–2017 – Rapid expansion across Kerala and South India; first batch of Hifz students complete their memorization.
• 2018 – Launch of ATQ School of Tahfeedul Qur’an (STQ) for boys and Rayaheen for girls.
• 2020 – e-Dirasat, the online learning platform, initiated during the pandemic and continues to serve remote learners.
• 2023 – More than 150 affiliate centres across India and the Gulf; major recognition for quality and impact.

Our Approach
At the heart of Alfitrah’s pedagogy lies the globally recognized Nourel Bayan – wel Fathurabbani system — a child-friendly, intuitive method developed by Egyptian scholars, enabling young learners to complete Quranic reading with Tajweed within three years. Complemented by the Oxford curriculum for English, Mathematics, and EVS, Alfitrah ensures children grow with both spiritual wisdom and academic readiness.

Founded in 1973 in Kozhikode, ATQ has pioneered structured Quranic education in Kerala for over 50 years. It began with hosting Qir’ath, Hifz, and Azan competitions, inspiring thousands to engage with the Quran seriously. The Ta’aleemul Quran College, launched the same year, was among the first formal Hifz institutions in Kerala.
Through its programs, ATQ continues to uphold its vision of nurturing Quran-centric individuals who contribute positively to society.
